Flo's favourite books of 2016!

1. Beard Science by Penny Reid

"I loved everything about this book. The quirky characters, the engaging storyline. A kick-ass heroine, who is more than a match for the often mysterious Cletus. It was simply a joy to read. By far my absolute favourite book this year.

2. The Bourbon Thief by Tiffany Reisz

"WOW, just wow. What a book. In some ways a complete departure from the authors previous work and yet uniquely recognizable. I love Tiffany Reisz and once again she delivered a captivating story; with suspense, mysteries, so many secrets and such excellent writing. Truly gripping. I read it in one sitting, for the life of me I wasn't able to put it down.

3. Try by Ella Frank

"Try, Take and Trust by Ella Frank all but changed my reading habits this year. My very first proper MM books blew me completely away. I fell in love with Tate and Logan, I was consumed by their story and I'm forever grateful to have found this genre. It has led me to hours of pure reading bliss.

4. A Bloody Kingdom by J.J. McAvoy

"I have said this again and again, the Ruthless People series is the perfect read to send your morals and decent human behaviour on a vacation. The characters are unconventional, blood-thirsty and they are good at the criminal game.

The fourth book in the series was the book I never knew I wanted, but I'm so freaking happy we got. There is no one who does mafia quite like J.J. McAvoy.

5. The Rebirth of Sin by Courtney Lane

"The Rebirth of Sin was such a complex and mind-boggling book, hours after I finished reading my mind was still spinning, trying to put all the pieces together and most importantly attempting to figure out where it will all go next.

There are very few authors who can pull off such a risqué balance right on the edge of going too far and pushing limits way past what is bearable, while keeping the reader engaged, curious and a little baffled as to what is going on. Courtney Lane is, in my humble opinion, the master of misdirection and a pure genius when it comes to dark and twisted stories.

6. Burn Down the Night by M. O'Keefe

"I’ve been a huge fan of Molly O’Keefe ever since I picked up the first book in the Everything I left Unsaid series and this third installment only cemented that feeling. Brilliant writing, kickass characters, fantastic story lines and so much emotion. I absolutely loved Burn Down the Night.

Sandy's favourite books of 2016!

1. Sidebarred by Emma Chase

"Hands down, Sustained is my favourite Emma Chase book to date. Be it brooding alpha male, swoon worthy scenes, off the chart hotness and add to it bunch of adorable noisy bickering kids, BAM!! You get one helluva hilarious, heart-warming romantic story. So to get an additional novella of all your favourite characters is like a dream come true - THANK YOU EMMA CHASE!!

2. Collared by Nicole Williams

"There are those love stories which are full of rainbows and unicorns with fairy tale endings and then there are others just unfolding the true meaning of love - sacrificing, healing, hoping and most of all never giving up.

Collared is one such story with a poignant undertone; a story of girl who lost ten years of her life in captivity and a boy who never gave up on her until she was found. It is a riveting, emotionally beautiful and inspiring story of a survivor.

3. It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

"Colleen Hoover’s ‘It Ends With Us’ is more than just a love story, It’s a moving story about our protagonist, Lily. It’s about her excitement of finding new love and the warm memories of the first love. It’s also about her journey to self-discovery, growing up, forgiveness and taking control.

I know I won’t stop thinking about this book for a long time. If you ask me just go in blind or read the blurb or trust your friends who have already read it, but whatever you do GIVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE it’s worth every single word!

4. Backfire by Keri Lake

"With Backfire, Keri Lake delivers yet another story driven by revenge and fuelled by love. I’m amazed by the way she brought the characters to life and made every bit of their existence realistic. Be the soul crushing act of violence or heart melting romance, Keri writes this gruesome story unapologetically as she makes you experience all sorts of unhealthy emotions right from the beginning!!

5. Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas

"Punk 57 will hit you in the gut with its angst, emotions and surprising turn of events. Set in a high school premise, this story is packed with a strong thought provoking message for the youths. The struggle to survive or be on top of a food chain-this story captures the essence of every high school drama.

6. Black Widow by Jenni Moen

"Jenni Moen is the master of suspense and jaw dropping twist for sure! Black Widow is yet another addition to Mrs Moen’s world of alluring romantic suspense, while it will keep you on your toes, you do get to enjoy a slow and sensual story.
